Once a modest 14-suite motel, Seaview is being reimagined as a contemporary 49-suite destination that celebrates Kangaroo Island’s heritage, landscape, and future.

The redevelopment carefully balances old and new. Drawing from the solidity of 1920s heritage buildings, the relaxed horizontality of mid-century motels, and refined contemporary detailing, the design honours the site’s layered history while providing modern amenity and long-term resilience. Muted tones, natural textures, and durable finishes reinforce a sense of belonging to place, creating a destination that feels distinctly of Kangaroo Island.

At the heart of the project sits the restored 1920s building, once closed following fire damage. Reimagined as Seaview’s restaurant, it will once again become a vibrant hub for dining, connection, and storytelling, linking the Island’s past with its future.

Each of the motel’s three wings has been designed with its own subtle character, expressed through colour and texture while unified by a consistent design language. Interiors balance durability and functionality with a layered richness, ensuring spaces feel both refined and welcoming.

Our team’s comprehensive approach spans design, value planning, and construction delivery. Every decision has been guided by collaboration, authenticity, and respect for the Island context. The result will be a destination that restores an island icon and redefines the experience for a new generation of travellers.

Seaview Motel Kangaroo Island is scheduled for completion in late 2026.
